LALRG signed the cooperation agreement with the Association of Local Government of Kyrgyzstan

On 16-21 August the delegation of the Latvian Association of Local and Regional Governments (LALRG) visited Kyrgyzstan in the framework of the project "Development of Local Governments and Promoting Good Governance in Kyrgyzstan".  The Latvian delegation included Gints Kaminskis, Chairman of the LALRG, Mudīte Priede, Secretary General of the LALRG, Elita Kresse, Adviser on Foreign Affairs of the LALRG, Hardijs Vents, Chairman of Pārgauja Municipality Council and Tālis Šelengovs, Deputy Chairman of Amata Municipality Council.

In order to develop cooperation with the beneficiary country's partners and strengthen the Association of Local Government of Kyrgyzstan by making it to be National dialogue platform on local government issues, Gints Kaminskis, Chairman of the LALRG and Alymkulov Emil Mayor of Narina local government, signed an agreement on cooperation on August 20 in Bishkek. The agreement provides for cooperation between both Associations, sharing experience and knowledge.

The LALRG implements the project "Development of Local Governments and Promoting Good Governance in Kyrgyzstan" which is funded by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia in 2018 from the budget of the development cooperation. The aim of the project is to facilitate good governance in Kyrgyzstan by strengthening the capacity of the local governments and the Association of Local Government of Kyrgyzstan.
