PLATFORMA 10 year anniversary conference and European Week of Regions and Cities

On 10 October in Brussels (Belgium) Representatives of the Latvian local governments and representatives of Latvian Association of Local and Regional Governments participated in PLATFORMA 10 year anniversary conference - 10 years of decentralised cooperation. "Platforma" has been joining European associations of local and regional governments and local governments active in the field of development cooperation for ten years.

One of the thematic workshops of conference was “20 deliverables for 2020: local solutions for a changing eastern neighbourhood”, where Arnolds Jātnieks Chairman of Bauska municipality participated and spoke about importance of the cooperation with partners from other countries for learning from experience and for good practice exchange. Bauska municipality has two twin municipalities of the Eastern Partnership countries - the Soroka municipality in Moldova and the municipality of Khashuri in Georgia.

October 11 Latvian Mayors also took part in the seminar on delivering sustainable development goals at regional and local level organized in Brussels within the European Week of Regions and Cities.

Latvian representatives had a chance to meet Adviser of the Permanent Representation of the of the Republic of Latvia to the EU Ieva Lapiņa and discuss about 20 Sustainable Development Goals for year 2020.
