Mudīte Priede emphasized in her speech: “In order to have successful cooperation between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Latvia, we need to strengthen friendship and to promote the economic cooperation between both countries. It will provide a platform for developing and implementation of joint projects, stimulate investment and trade among the local governments.” She also noted the successful cooperation which is developing between the local governments of our countries. Our capital city Riga has successful cooperation with Beijing, Suzhou and Shanghai. Furthermore, in November 2018 the leaders of Riga City Council met with a delegation of Shenzhen (Šeņdžeņ) to discuss cooperation possibilities in tourism and culture.

Within the working group, representatives of CEEC countries presented progress in cooperation with China and discussed the agenda of the 16 + 1 local government and business summit next year. The summit will take place in September 2020 in Shenzhen.
