On 5 to 6 September held the Nordic and Baltic countries meeting (NoBa) in Kirkenes (Norway) for Secretary Generals and Foreign Affairs Representatives of the associations of local governments.
Representatives of Nordic and Baltic local government associations this time discussed about more active involvement of politicians in international organizations such as - The Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, Council of European Municipalities and Regions, United Cities and Local Governments and European Committee of Regions, how to motivate and prepare members and politicians in international activities. Colleagues from Estonia, Lithuania and Denmark and Finland shared experiences in this particular field. Mudīte Priede, Secretary General of the Latvian Association of Local and Regional Governments and Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities exchanged best practices in working with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Also, all participants shared brief reports on relevant issues for local governments in each country.
