Join the discussion seminar "Digital Interaction in Social Work" on April 29!

On April 29, 2021, the Association of Local and Regional Governments of Latvia and the Association “MARTA Centre” in cooperation with the Norwegian Embassy in Latvia are organizing a seminar “Digital Interaction in Social Work”. The program of the event is attached.

Today, the importance of digital and remote solutions is growing in all areas of life, including social work. Digitization not only offers great opportunities, but also requires new knowledge and creates new challenges.

Anne Wullum Aasback, a social worker and PhD candidate in social sciences from Norway, will present the findings of her research on the impact of digital technologies on social work in the broadest sense - what implication should the digitalization have for social work student curriculum, does the digital society call for new forms of interventions in social work, how does digital tools affect the relational aspects between clients and social worker, in what ways does data structures and digital tools affect professional discretion?  Anne Wullum Aasback is a PhD candidate in social sciences at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. She has ten years of practical work experience in the municipality of Trondheim and the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration.

In the continuation of the seminar, several representatives of local governments, the non-governmental sector and state institutions will share their experience stories about working remotely and using various digital solutions.

The seminar will take place on the online platform ZOOM from 10:00 to 12:00 (Latvian time) / 9:00–11:00 Norway time/. The seminar will be held in both Latvian and English, and simultaneous interpretation will be provided for registered participants on the ZOOM platform.
