Representatives of municipalities from the European Union and Eastern Partnership countries are welcome to participate at the online event ”Technology is the answer, but what was the question?” taking place on 12 May at 13:00 – 15:00 (CET)! Register for the event here until 10 May!
In 1966, the architect Cedric Price made the provocation, “Technology is the answer, but what was the question?”, intending to invite the audience at his lecture to search, question, and reconsider the impact of technological progress. Now more than 50 years on, this question is as relevant as ever.
In this webinar we would like to come back to the question, why the priority of green and digital Europe has arisen. And what if we add to these transformations the cultural aspect of the European Green Deal – New European Bauhaus initiative, which puts at the centre the place-based approach and local transformations in order to make our municipalities more beautiful, sustainable and inclusive places? Would then our actions seem more feasible and meaningful?
The event is organised by the Latvian Association of Local and Regional Governments (LALRG), the Association of Local Authorities of Lithuania, the Council of European Municipalities and Regions and PLATFORMA. The working languages are Latvian, Lithuanian, English and Russian.
At the same day two another “Green day” events are taking place devoted to the Green City Accord, as well as the session on the Covenant of Mayors “(Y)our Earth: the new Covenant of Mayors for fairer, climate-neutral Europe”.
For more information, please, contact Mrs Agita Kaupuza at LALRG.
